Frankfurt lives up to its reputation as an international city. A total of 175 nationalities are currently represented in the city, which makes for an enormous diversity in Frankfurt's cuisines. Join me on a culinary historical journey through the popular city centre and get to know Frankfurt's traditional food & drink culture with tastings and stories. Cafés and restaurants in Frankfurt suits for every budget, from street snacks to Michelin-starred meals. Here you will find everything you need for a good life, an incredibly varied gastronomy, a great café and pub culture. Even the ancient Romans and Greeks knew that wine could be made from many types of fruit. In the Middle Ages, wine and beer were the favorite drinks in Frankfurt but the "national drink" Cider first appeared around the year 1600. Discover the delicious flavors of Hessian cuisine. Learn more about the Frankfurt delicacies, the hip gold "Hüftgold", such as the Bethmännchen or the Frankfurt crown cake.
GOSIGHTSEEINGWITHME - I'll show you FRANKFURT at its best. On your tour you can expect a selection of exciting culinary stops and the stories that go with them, for example: - Frankfurt coffee houses, e. g. Cafe Hauptwache or Cafe Liebfrauenberg, one of the oldest coffee houses in the city and a meeting place for all social classes. Frankfurt had a long coffee house culture and the inhabitants developed all kinds of peculiarities and culinary customs. - Kleinmarkthalle, the calorie exchange in Frankfurt, is a must for foodies (closed on Sundays); here you can find all Frankfurt specialities. If you are hungry, you can try many of the delicacies freshly prepared on the spot. - In the old town, I'll tell you in an entertaining way about Frankfurt's national drink, cider, and of course the wonderful story of the original Frankfurter sausages, which have been famous since the Middle Ages. You might try Frankfurt's national dish, Grüne Soße, a lighter vegetarian version. Tour can be customized.
