Join me for an immersive journey through Berlin's rich Jewish history. Together, we'll discover the fascinating story of the community's re-establishment in the second half of the 17th century, including the transformative era of Moses Mendelssohn. As for myself, beyond my personal fascination with Jewish wars, both today and in the 19th century, I also academically study history that has a relevant connection to these matters. If you'd like dive further into our Jewish Heritage, contact me so I could customize this tour to include additional sites of special historical significance, tailored to your interests, such as: -The museum at the New Synagogue (I'm an official guide there & would gladly guide you). -The Kindertransport Memorial at Friedrichstraße Station (commemorating the rescue of Jewish children) -Grunewald Deportation Memorial (honoring the memory of Berlin's deported Jewish community).
·This tour will begin once we've met in Mitte-Hackescher Markt, home to many historic Jewish community institutions. ·From there, we'll proceed to the Block of Women and see The place of the first Synagogue in Berlin, which witnessed the first and last public protest in Berlin during WWII. ·Next, we'll reach Hackesche Höfe. ·What follows will be the Exhibition of Otto Weidt Workshop for the Blind in the eponymous museum. ·Later, we could do a potential coffee break at a Local Café. ·We'll continue exploring and seeing some more sites of Jewish institutions, for instance, the Jewish-Orthodox Community building of "Adas-Israel", located in its historical space. ·We'll then pass by the New Synagogue - Jewish Centre and see its facade. ·Afterwards, we'll see Moses Mendelson Gymnasium (in the first Jewish school in Berlin). ·We'll finish our tour after visiting the old Jewish cemetry.
