We will start our walk at the heart of Lyon at the Bellecour Square
There, after being given a courageous look by the king Luis XIV we will proceed to the river bank and enjoy its long standing market which will spoil you with its variety of local food specialties and lots of other products.
Then, we will walk through the streets of historical brick houses to reach the largest covered-market the Halles.
After visiting this undoubtedly most charming and colourful part of the city, we will take a slow walk - after all, you might be feeling tired - and see enormously enchanting cave à vins where we will have an opportunity to taste some of the local wines and a wide selection of cheese. This particular period has always interested me personally as my hometown is the capital of the Resistance. It led me to work for the Museum of the Resistance and Deportation as a licensed guide. I have been able to study this topic with historians and archivists.

You will see the places where the Resistants printed their clandestine newspapers, where Jews lived their faith and where many were arrested, where the Resistants hid while organizing their networks and where many plaques celebrate the memory of those who died for their country. You will also see the places where the Gestapo and the Nazis tortured their victims and where they organized the repression.
