It only takes half an hour train ride from the center of Paris to find yourself in completely different surroundings. By going to Versailles, you'll visit the town that was created by the order of the Kings in the same perfect symmetry as its famous palace and its 800-hectare gardens. The Palace of Versailles is also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site by possessing Outstanding Universal Value. Our tour will head right into the gardens, the main thing you're probably eager to see. During our walk in gardens, I'll not only share historical facts with you, but being a fashion stylist of course, I'll also discuss Louis XIV's style. For starters, I won't hide the fact that he was a very powerful, influential persona in the fashion and lifestyle world back then. We'll also explore 2 different sides of the town: the old and the new. However, the new town doesn't have too modern buildings at all. Both parts actually have magnificent churches, and cathedrals, so the town is like a part of the palace in a way.
-First we'd meet at your place of lodging. -Then, we'll get to the closest metro station to lead us to the train station to take a direct train to go to Versailles. Otherwise, we could just walk to it. ·We'll then arrive at the town, where our first stop will be to visit the outsides of the Palace and its gardens. -Next, if the weather allows us, we'll take a short break on the terrace of the garden and have a drink and/or a snack, as you prefer. -After covering these gardens, we'll visit the old town of Versailles, covering the following landmarks: ·Quartier des Antiquaires ·Passage de la Geole ·Saint-Louis Square ·Saint-Louis Cathedral What follows will be the new town area which includes highlights such as: ·Notre-Dame Market ·Notre-Dame Church ·Lambinet Museum ·Place Hoche ·Espace Richaud -Having completed our tour of the town, we'll return to the train station to take a ride back to Paris. -When we arrive to Paris, I'll accompany you back to our initial meeting point.
