In the Medoc (Left Bank) I'll show you an example of the key terroirs in the famous village appellations of Margaux, St Julien, Pauillac and St Estephe. Impressive grand châteaux are located here in the flattish landscape of this peninsula. As we ascend the gravel stones the soil increases and so there is more and more Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend (a key word here in Bordeaux) and the wines get more fullbodied.

My personal favourites include a biodynamic classified Pauillac growth and St Julien with bottles dating back to 1815. There are also smaller properties to visit here in lesser known appellations (such as Listrac, Moulis or the interesting Haut Medoc) on the 'wrong side' of the border of their famous neighbours (at a fraction of the price).

After a 20 miles ride to the St Emilion region in a comfortable car, I will give you a real tour of Saint Emilion (not just a stroll). You will discover its religious history, the English influence during the middle age, and we will have also a tasting in a unique hidden bakery in St Emilion, the one where the local macaron is baked. You will visit the underground church and catacombs.
Nearby the village, you will have a first visit of an amazing winery where you will learn about the local winemaking methods, the processes required to produce wine and processing, and hints on the necessary financial investments and risks. A tasting of 3 red wines will end the tour.
Then we will lunch in a traditional French restaurant.
Then we will have a tasting in a family estate. The same family has owned the winery for 300 years.

I will guide you throughout this trip by giving you lots of interesting information that will help you understand the region and its wines.
I will take you to the place of the famous 1855 classification, driving among many beautiful estates.

I will take you on a visit to 3/4 chateaus (depending on the length of each visit) from different Médoc appellations.
