As your Private Guide / Translator we will explore fantastic prehistoric cave art in Lascaux IV, plus the beautiful cave art of Rouffignac, the famous museum in Les Eyzies and the PIP plus another local prehistoric cave.

Prehistory is my specialist subject. I have worked as a custodian and guide of prehistoric cave art in 3 major sites, 2 in the Dordogne including Lascaux II, I have an in-depth knowledge of this ancient and mysterious culture which I would love to share with you and will be able to point out areas and stories that the onsite guide will pass over.
We will visit the brand new state of the art Lascaux IV.
Here there are 2 replicas of the chambers of the Lascaux cave containing beautiful copies of these world famous paintings. There is also an interactive museum.

Charming Saint Emilion, the heart of the famous Bordeaux wine region

My private wine tours feature visits to world's famous Saint Emilion vineyard in a very cozy and friendly atmosphere. I offer my tours to very small, thus intimate groups of only up to 4 people! I will guide you throughout this trip by giving you lots of interesting information that will help you understand the region and its wines.

During our tour you will visit two very different wine estates ("chateaus" - do you actually know what this word means? Or you think you know ;-)? ). Both visits will finish with a tasting of some beautiful wines- and I will teach you how to properly do it!

In between the visits we'll take a little walk in the very picturesque medieval town of Saint Emilion (UNESCO World Heritage Site) discovering its history and main monuments. You will also have a chance to sample Saint Emilion's sweet speciality - the delicious macarons.

Of course there will be time for lunch or a quick snack.

Médoc Private Wine Tour - a day amongst some of Bordeaux's most famous châteaux

Visit and taste wines at three grand cru classé châteaux with chance to lunch in between at a local restaurant where we'll rub shoulders with the Bordeaux world of wine!

In the Medoc (Left Bank) I'll show you an example of the key terroirs in the famous village appellations of Margaux, St Julien, Pauillac and St Estephe. Impressive grand châteaux are located here in the flattish landscape of this peninsula. As we ascend the gravel stones the soil increases and so there is more and more Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend (a key word here in Bordeaux) and the wines get more fullbodied.

My personal favourites include a biodynamic classified Pauillac growth and St Julien with bottles dating back to 1815. There are also smaller properties to visit here in lesser known appellations (such as Listrac, Moulis or the interesting Haut Medoc) on the 'wrong side' of the border of their famous neighbours (at a fraction of the price).

After a 20 miles ride to the St Emilion region in a comfortable car, I will give you a real tour of Saint Emilion (not just a stroll). You will discover its religious history, the English influence during the middle age, and we will have also a tasting in a unique hidden bakery in St Emilion, the one where the local macaron is baked. You will visit the underground church and catacombs.
Nearby the village, you will have a first visit of an amazing winery where you will learn about the local winemaking methods, the processes required to produce wine and processing, and hints on the necessary financial investments and risks. A tasting of 3 red wines will end the tour.
Then we will lunch in a traditional French restaurant.
Then we will have a tasting in a family estate. The same family has owned the winery for 300 years.

For wine and history lovers! 
Let me take you to Saint-Emilion and show you two completely different wineries and the beautiful village of Saint-Emilion.

After meeting you, we will head for Saint-Emilion in a private car. I'll explain the characteristics of Bordeaux wines and you'll have the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have about Bordeaux wines.

We'll start with a visit to one of the wineries, where you'll see the vines, vat room and barrel cellar and learn more about how the wines of the region are made. Then comes the best part: the tasting!

Then it's back to the car to visit a second winery. After a short presentation of the estate, you'll taste several wines, so you can compare them with previous ones and sharpen your palate!

We'll finish with a historical tour of the village of Saint-Emilion, whose golden age was in the 13th and 14th centuries. I'll lead you through its narrow, steep streets, and you'll have the chance to try out Saint-Emilion's second speciality: its macaroons!

St Emilion Two Top Châteaux Private Full Day Wine Tour

I have lived for over 30 years here and so can offer an insider's view. We will visit two top châteaux, have lunch overlooking the vineyards, drive through the undulating countryside where I will fill you in on the culture, history and politics of the region. We will have time to visit the fascinating medieval town of St Emilion its cobbled streets and pass through Pomerol where Bordeaux's most expensive wines are found including Petrus.

St Emilion (Right Bank) is a beautiful wine region with its vineyards planted on rolling hills around its medieval village. In these cooler soils of clay and limestone, Merlot is Queen with a top-up of Cabernet Franc. The properties are smaller here and many are still family-owned.

It is known as 'the hill of a thousand châteaux' and it is important to visit some contrasting styles from the classified property where we go under the vines in limestone caves and another, which has been 'organic forever' and is run by the 14th generation of the same family today.
