On this tour you'll see all the highly recognizable, iconic facades and buildings that make Paris, Paris! We will start in Montparnasse, where we'll see what's known by Parsians as the "Champagne Cap" building, a stunning example of Neo Classic / Art Nouveau design by Felix Potin. We'll also pass the best of Haussmann design residentials in the elite and prominent areas of the 6th arrondissement. We can stop at anytime for coffee, food or drinks, and I'll leave you with my best restaurant recommendations for the remainder of your trip too. We will also reach Église Saint-Sulpice, with its commanding arches, which served as the basis of the Da Vinci Code book and films. We will see the largest pipe organ too! (and yes, it still plays each Sunday at an incredibly hair raising force). We'll travel by metro and get to the Financial district as well, to see some of the most stunning commercial facades and further Haussmann design. We'll wrap up our day going into the National Library. Customizable itinerary:
-After meeting in your lodging, our first stop will be Montparnasse Tower, a skyscraper home to Europe's highest restaurant, Le Ciel de Paris, and see the unique "Champagne Cap" building design by Felix Potin. -Moving on, we'll pass iconic residential facades by Georges-Eugène Haussmann, the man responsible for completely revamping the entire city & roads designs, the Ultimate city planner! -Next we'll see the best example of "flying buttress" & Romanesque designs at Église Saint-Sulpice, which also houses the city's largest functioning pipe organ. -We'll travel by the legendary Paris metro which holds numerous Art Nouveau designs by Hector Guimard, to the Financial district in the 2nd arrondissement, to see more commercial building masterpieces. -To finish I'll take us inside an immaculately, fully restored masterpiece -The Richelieu National Library of France. I'll show you the complete restoration and hidden hallways of Paris' newest architectural feat, pairing modernism with classic French design.
