In his 40's, Claude Monet chose to spend his life in the village of Giverny, Normandy. The Master's eye had definitely led him to the right place. When we go there, with your own eyes, you will understand his choice. What a fascinating artist! He proved to be even a genius at gardening. He made the nature he had in his mind come true in these wonderful gardens that you are invited to contemplate. After lunch, we will visit the amazing Chateau La Roche Guyon, partly built in the cliff, overlooking the Seine river. During WW2, this Chateau happened to be Marshall Rommel's Headquarter in Normandy.
After driving approximately 1 hour, we will reach the village of Giverny. We will first walk through the Master's japanese and norman-style Gardens. Then, you will be able to visit the house that he lived in for over 40 years. After lunch, we will visit Chateau La Roche Guyon. On the way back, we will get off the beaten tracks so you can admire the peaceful countryside of Normandy.
