Paris was the world's capital of art in the 20th century. The impressionist revolution just happened, giving to us unforgettable artworks. After this, artists were free to follow their paths, expressing their feelings and ideals. Monet is probably the artist that most represents the Impressionist's era and the one who was the most faithful to the movement's "rules". He was especially obsessed by the waterlilies in his late activity. In 1922 he donated 8 panels to this museum, a former Orangerie: each 2 meters (6. 66 ft) high and spanning a total length of 91 meters (298. 6 ft), arranged in 2 oval rooms that form the symbol of infinity. And that's not all: there is a beautiful collection in the lower floor, the Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume's collection, that was meant to be the first museum of French modern art, with other impressionist and post-impressionist artists and personalities who lived in Paris and changed deeply the Art History (Derain, Matisse, Picasso, Modigliani among others).
We will meet in front of the Musée, in the beautiful Tuileries' garden. We will immerge ourselves in the waterlilies rooms, floating in the colours and enjoying this almost supernatural atmosphere that make this place unique. We will go downstairs to admire modern French paintings and the importance of Paris as the capital of art at the beginning of the new 20th century. This tour can be customized upon request.
