You will follow in the footsteps of the American soldiers who landed in Normandy on June 6th 1944 with the objective of liberating Europe. DDay is the introduction of the last chapter of the war in Europe. From the Normandy bridgehead to the surrender of the Nazi regime, 11 months will pass. We will see Omaha Beach as well as the American cemetery and the Pointe du Hoc. The lovely town of Bayeux will be a great addition to a day well spent in Normandy.
You will start the day at Omaha Beach to understand all the details of "bloody Omaha". From the layout of the German defenses to the plight of the first waves, we will reflect on the stories of these brave GI's who conquered the beach. The American Cemetery will be our second stop. The resting place of more than 9, 000 American servicemen and women. Then we will head to the unique site of Pointe du Hoc. Follow the footsteps of the 2nd US Ranger Battalion led by the famous Lieutenant Colonel James E. Rudder who scaled the cliffs to destroy a German gun battery. The Lunch will take place in Bayeux, a vibrant and charming medieval town preserved from the destructions of war. It will be possible if you wish to visit the tapestry of Bayeux depicting the tales of William the Conqueror in 1066.
