Come on a 2 day tour where we'll explore international cemeteries such as the German La Cambe, an invitation to rest in peace made in a simple, sober style, and the American Colleville-sur-Mer, an astonishing site of remembrance and meditation overlooking Omaha Beach. I'll be unveiling the amazing Overlord operation, discuss the Allies' landing on June 6th 1944, and dive into the famous Battle of Normandy. We'll also be covering D-Day's American Sector, where I'll share details of where the US soldiers arrived, what they faced off in Normandy and where some of them have stay forever. Besides, I'll show you part of the British sector and 2 truly remarkable examples of war logistics achievements: the artificial harbour and one of the biggest German defence batteries on the Normandy Coast. Particularly on the second da, we'll roamed Bayeux for a couple of hours and see a town with a medieval past and a rare treasure: the Bayeux Tapestry, a miraculously surviving item after the World War II's bombings.
This tour could begin from Bayeux or from Caen. 1st Day: •We'll first visit the German cemetery of La Cambe. •Next, we'll visit Angoville-au-plain, where I'll share a human story in the hellish scene of WWII. •Then, Utah Beach, the landing of the 4th Infantry Division. •Later, we'll driving through the 101st airborne division drop zones. •Afterwards, Sainte Mère Eglise, with time to visit the Airborne museum & La Fière bridge battle. •Next, Battery of « Pointe du Hoc », site of the Rangers' attacks on the cliffs. •Lastly, Omaha Beach, site of D-Day's bloodiest battle. 2nd Day: •We'll start visiting US cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer (Normandy's largest military cemetery). •We'll then see Longues-sur-Mer, a huge German coastal defence. •Next, the Arromanches, the remains of the Allies Artificial Harbour, the "Mulberry". •Afterwards, we'll do a walking tour of Bayeux's centre, including the cathedral. •Lastly, we'll see the 70 m long Bayeux Tapestry, where I'll share the epic story of William the Conqueror.
