On this full day tour from Honfleur or Bayeux, you'll understand the link between the battle of Hastings and June 6th 1944. In Normandy, I will take you on the footsteps of the 156 000 GI's who liberated France and Europe. With me, you'll gain the unique perspective of the grandson a resistance fighters, who told me "almost " everything they went through during these awful 4 years. Things I didn't find in history books, even the best ones. In Arromanches, you'll immerse yourself in the terrible first days of combat. In Longues sur Mer, you'll grasp what was really the Atlantic Wall. In Ste Mère Eglise, I'll explain you in details how the Americans were able to capture the Cherbourg Peninsula so quickly and the importance of it for the battle of Normandy and Europe. On Omaha beach, you'll walk on the holy grounds as I will explain you in detail the initial assault

( if lunch is in Ste Mère Eglise, then, less time for Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery ) ---Ste Mère Eglise - Drop zone of the US Airborne on June 6th 1944--- 1. 30 PM - Utah Beach 2PM - Stop at Brécourt Manor Visit of the site 3PM - Stop at the Dead's Man Corner - Ste Marie du Mont Visit of the site 3. 30PM-5PM -Normandy American Cemetery & Memorial - Omaha Beach Visit of the site Ceremony of the Flag at 5PM ( summer time - 4PM winter ) 5. 30 PM - Stop at Pointe du Hoc - Visit of the site Drop-off at Bayeux- Honfleur by 7PM
