This guided tour of Omaha sector is dedicated to those of you who may not have a lot of time to explore the renowned Normandy battlefields! In the space of a couple of hours, this tour formula will give you the opportunity to discover remnants of the German fortifications, step on the best-known of the D-day beaches, contemplate the deep, moon-like WWII craters and, more importantly, learn the stories of some of the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. -Pick-up at hotel/train-station in Bayeux; -Our tour of Omaha sector will include: *Pointe du Hoc, one of the most iconic Normandy landmarks, scene of a remarkable display of bravery on the part of members of 2nd US Rangers. *Omaha Beach and 'Dog Green' sector, the section of the beach with the highest casualty rate in the morning of June 6 (depicted in Saving Private Ryan) *Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, final resting place for over 9, 300 American dead *Longues s/ Mer battery, the only costal battery in Normandy to have preserved three of its four original 150mm guns -Drive back to Bayeux Please note that all special requests concerning the itinerary, duration, etc. , are supposed to be discussed and agreed upon prior to the tour
