Overview of your Bayeux tour:

If you are visiting Normandy for the first time, this tour covers all the major sites of the D-Day landings. On June 7, 1944, in order to supply the millions of soldiers that will land in the following weeks in Normandy, the engineers of the British Army started to build an entire harbor in Arromanches. They towed 50-foot high concrete blocks across the English Channel and then sunk them to creat a breakwater for the port. We will see the remains of this harbor and we will also discover the Battery of Longues, which has today the largest surviving German artillery guns in Normandy. After, we will the see the main American battlefields. From the landings of Omaha Beach, well-depicted in the movie "Saving Private Ryan", to the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc, scaled by U. S. Army Rangers, we will learn D-Day heroes' stories and visit German bunkers. We will then pay a tribute to the fallen soldiers at the American Cemetery. Finally, we will have the chance to see German and American tanks at the Overlord Museum.

Your Bayeux tour itinerary

From Bayeux or surroundings, we will have a 15-minute to drive to our first site: Port Winston. During the day, we will visit: - the Mulberry harbor in Arromanches - the German battery of Longues-sur-Mer - the Overlord Museum - Omaha Beach - The American Cemetery - Pointe du Hoc After the tour, we will drive back to Bayeux, where the tour started. This tour allows us to cover all the highlights of the events that happened on June 6, 1944. The Mulberry harbor, the battery of Longues and the Overlord Museum will demonstrate us the tremendous amount of men involved on each side on the preparation for D-Day and the firepower of the different armies. With our visit to Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and the American Cemetery we will discover the battlefields of the U. S Army, the incredible actions of some individuals and the ultimate sacrifice some of them made for the liberation of Europe from Nazi tyranny. * Itinerary can be customized upon request.
