For successive generations, my family grew up behind the Karnak Temple, next to its wall. When I was young, I entered to it and looked at those huge statues of Ramesses II and many pharaohs, wondering about this existing beauty and that stunning sense of ethnicity in art and civilization. The Karnak Temple was one of the largest places in the ancient Egyptian civilization. For millennia, it was mentioned that there was a group of temples, one inside another, connected by a road of 3 kilometers along Sphinx statues with the head of a ram, that eventually reached the Luxor Temple. It's also said that in the middle of this road and next to the Nile River, is where we now find the Luxor Museum. So if you want to explore the eastern side of Luxor, visit the Karnak Temple, Luxor and its museum, I can give you an unforgettable visit. I have been visiting them for 16 years so for example, I can show you each piece in the museum and the reason for its presence there. The following itinerary could be customized:
-We would begin the tour after picking you up from your lodging and visiting the Karnak Temple for a couple of hours, to really get to know many places inside it and unveil its secrets. -On arrival, we'll walk through the Sphynx's road (creatures with the body of a lion and the head of Ramesses II). -We'll then reach the Open Court, which has the Shrine of Site II & the small temple of Ramesses III. -Next, we'll enter the Hall of Columns. -Later, we'll visit the Open Museum of Karnak. -We'll then visit the temple's High Chapel. -We'll continue to see the Sacred Lake. -Next, we'll see the temple of the God of the Moon. -We could then go and get lunch in a recommended venue, and then head to Luxor Museum and understand the meaning of its riches and antiques, which will enable us to link the artwork with what we saw and will see later. -After the museum visit, we'll go to the Luxor Temple, where we could even watch the sunset on the face of Ramses, marveling at its beauty while its illuminated at dusk.
