A Private Tour Through the Streets of Aalborg

In every city in the world, you will always find strange or funny street names, do you ever stop to think, "why is it called that, or what is the history behind it?" This walking tour will take you through the street of the city where, even though there are Danish names you may think, as a foreigner, mean absolutely nothing, their story can sometimes surprise you. As we walk, the street names will also introduce you to the history of this wonderful city, and perhaps we may just stop and have a good laugh at the name or just wonder why. An interesting fact is that in the 16 century, Aalborg was formerly a city with a 'witch school', that many prominent ladies attended, something today, the city is very proud of. Some of the streets have stories, which connect to the witches and some of their husbands. Over time the mayors and wealthy merchants struggled for power and street names were often changed, in order to keep the peace.
