Join me for a fascinating 2-hour walk through Prague's New & Old Town districts to uncover inspiring stories of women who shaped Czech history. We’ll be walking approximately 3km, strolling past iconic landmarks—including Charles Square, the National Theatre & Old Town Square. As we go along, I'll tell you about pioneers of the women’s movement. From Karolína Světlá, a novelist who founded 2 women's associations, to Eliška Krásnohorská, who established the first Czech high school for girls, and Františka Plaminková, a fearless politician who fought for women’s suffrage & stood up to totalitarian regimes. Moreover, I'll also help you uncovering stories of forgotten & overlooked women whose contributions helped shape the city. Expect a blend of engaging storytelling, interactive moments & urban exploration. Whether you’re visiting Prague for the first time or have been here before, this is an alternative way to experience the city. I'd love to show you the Prague I know, off the beaten path!
• Our tour will start from Charles Square, where we'll admire two striking statues of remarkable Czech women. • We'll then head towards the Vltava River and stop in front of the building that once housed the first Czech high school for girls, where we'll see another statue of a famous Czech writer. • Then it's on to the National Theatre, where we'll admire the beautiful architecture of this Neo-Renaissance building. • Later, we'll wander through the charming streets of the Old Town until we reach Náprstek Museum. • We'll proceed to have a seat in the courtyard of the museum, an oasis in the busy centre, as I tell you about the women’s association that advocated for women’s education. • We'll end the tour in the Old Times Square where I'll let you know about Czech women’s fight for suffrage and political rights.
