PLEASE, MESSAGE ME BEFORE YOU BOOK THE TOUR TO MAKE SURE OF MY AVAILABILITY. THANK YOU The history of the Ghetto is dated back even further to the 13th century, when Jews of Prague were ordered to vacate their homes and settle in this area. The original ghetto did not survive, what we can visit today is its 20th century "reconstruction". Even most of the buildings were replaced by the new ones, we can still admire some of those "ancient" ones. Above all they rank among the most beautiful and oldest in all Europe.
Among the sites that are definitely worth visiting is the Old-New Synagogue, the oldest functioning synagogue in Europe, the Spanish Synagogue (closed since June 1st, 2019 until end of 2020), and the Pinkas Synagogue, where are the names of all Czech Jewish victims of the holocaust during the WWII and drawings from children from Terezín Ghetto. But did you know that Hitler actually protected the Jewish Quarter? It is the reason why, for example, the Old Jewish Cemetery is the oldest preserved Jewish cemetery in Europe. And, not to forget, you have to be careful because of Golem! Closed on Saturday and Jewish holidays (http://www. jewishmuseum. cz/en/info/visit/opening-hours/) PLEASE, MESSAGE ME BEFORE YOU BOOK THE TOUR TO MAKE SURE OF MY AVAILABILITY. THANK YOU
