Today we drive to Famagusta. St. Barnabas Monastery and the Tomb of St. Barnabas will be visited. Salamis Ruins dates back to 11BC which was one of the oldest Kingdoms in Cyprus until 7AD. Gymnasium and Roman baths are some of the sights that you will see while you listen to its amazing history. Where is Arsinoe? When did it become Famagusta? This Medieval city is surrounded by walls. St. Nicholas Cathedral and Venetian Palace are the few sights that you'll visit. What did the Ottomans do when they took over from the Venetians? You will learn about the history while you get to take photos of this amazing place. We cannot leave the city before tasting Turkish desserts such as baklava. If you have not tried yet you do not know what you are missing. The last stop of the day will be Varosha which is known as Ghost Town. Are there any ghosts around? Why do they call it Ghost Town? All you have to do is book the tour and let me tell and show you while we walk around.

Unique Divided Capital of Cyprus, Nicosia and Romantic Larnaca

We will have a trip to the only divided capital in the world - Nicosia (Lefkosia). Here we will admire the Archbishop's Palace, which took much fighting during the invasion of 1974, and St John's Cathedral (Ayios Ioannis) with frescoes of 18th century. We will then walk through Laiki Geitonia - a traditional neighborhood of Nicosia with narrow winding streets and craft shops. Arriving at the liveliest part of the old city - Ledra Street, you will have free time for souvenir shopping. You will have a chance to enter the Northern Part of Nicosia, beyond the division line and we will visit Buyuk Han and Ayia Sofia Church.

Saying goodbye to Nicosia, we will drive towards the charming and diverse Larnaca (Larnaka), where we will visit Agios Lazaros Church - one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture. Arriving at the famous palm tree lined sea front - Finikoudes Promenade you will have explore the Medieval Castle.

A visit to the last divided capital in Europe the medieval walled city of Nicosia on foot. We drive through the walls and Bastions of Nicosia and Famagusta Gate. We firstly visit the Archbishop's Palace and its surroundings such as St. John's Cathedral, Byzantine Museum with icons from tenth century AD, mosaics fifth century AD and frescoes dated from the eleventh century AD. We also stop at the statue of Liberty. Many historical sights remaining from Byzantine, Lusigninian and Ottoman eras will be seen and visited. The Levention Museum of Nicosia will be also be visited. The tour will include its crossing through the popular neighborhood of Nicosia and Ledra street that leads to the checkpoint for the northern part of Nicosia where we will visit St. Sophia Cathedral twelve the biggest Gothic Church of Eastern Mediterranean, the closed market and the Buyuk Khan.

Day trip to Nicosia on a walking tour

This marvelous day will make you feel, taste, and smell the Island. You'll be taken into the Troodos mountain countryside to the cheese-making workshop of a village local to learn the traditional technique of halloumi and anari cheese making. You will spend time with true locals.
You'll enjoy a tasting of fresh cheese, Halloumi heaven, and a traditional brunch!

We'll then continue our journey into the scenic mountain villages to visit a honey producer. Part of our tour will be a visit to Lefkara village where you'll see the local ladies making the famous Cyprus lace plus time to shop & explore.

The Taste of the Island of Love

Our first visit will be at Curium city kingdom and the Greco-Roman theatre that originally goes back to 12 BC. The house of Eustolios with its mosaics and Roman bath. We will pass by the ancient stadium and the sanctuary of Apollo Hylatis.
On our way to Paphos, we will have a short stop at the birthplace of Goddess Aphrodite the goddess of love.
We will visit the archaeological park (UNESCO World heritage site) the house of Dionysus, Aion, and Theseus mosaics which are the best well-preserved mosaics found in the eastern Mediterranean with its mythological stories of the Greek gods. we will also visit the Odeon and the Forum of the city.
The tour also includes free time for lunch (at own expense) on the harbor front. We continue with a visit to the pillar of St. Paul and the ruins of the 4th century AD church of Panayia Chysopolitissa with its floor mosaicsA final visit to the tombs of the kings dated from the 4th century AD.
We will finish back to our starting point or another agreed-upon location.

A day trip to Paradise - Kyrenia and Famagusta

A full day tour to the occupied part of Cyprus offering you perspectives of Cyprus intriguing spots the medieval town of Famagusta. Our tour begins by crossing the checkpoint to the North side of Cyprus.

We firstly visit Salamis the Ancient City Kingdom and St. Barnabas Monastery-Icon and archaeological museum.

We continue our tour to the walled city of Famagusta, Saint Nicolas Cathedral, The Venetian Palace and its surroundings we and pass by the tower of Othello.

After crossing the plane of Mesaoria, we visit Kyrenia town and its castle, and the picturesque harbor.

Explore Larnaca and its surroundings on this walking tour

The tour offers a fascinating insight into the culture and architecture of the great city.
We begin by passing the palm-lined seaside promenade with colonial buildings and visit the medieval castle. We continue our tour to St. Lazarus Church 890 AD the most important Byzantine monument surviving in Cyprus and the local market where you can get the real palm and feeling the town. The walk finally takes us in the narrow shopping streets with old and modern buildings and the Pierides Museum covering a rare collection of the the Island's history from early bronze age till Medieval times.
We will then drive to the Halan Sultan Tekke Mosque framed with palm and cypress trees. The mosque is the most important Muslim sanctuary in Cyprus next to the salt lake where from December to April is full of Flamingos and other migratory birds. We also visit the Larnaca aqueduct.
We return to Larnaca to our starting point.

Firstly we visit the famous blue lagoon Nisi beach. Later we visit the inside of the imposing 16th century monastery, dedicated to Our Lady of the Forests. Discover the Ghost-Town Famagusta on a half- day tour

Join me on an in-depth view of Famagusta and the ongoing state of affairs with the Ghost Town and the illegal occupation of our Northern territories.

Although I am not a licensed guide, I know the history of this place like no other. My passion for my country and its history is showcased in particular on this tour as I grew up playing in the streets of it with my siblings and neighborhood friends.

I'll take to experience a true Ghost Town, Varosia, as it's known to the locals, an abandoned and once-glamorous city, we'll see the contrast between how it was and how it is known and we'll view the deserted hotels up close from its golden sandy beach.

We then continue by circling the moat of the Gothic city where the castle walls tower over us and finally enter inside and tour the city within the walls where 365 churches and cathedrals which once stood witness to centuries of history gone by.

Tour the wine routes of Troodos Mountains

Breath in the crisp, clean air of the mountains and countryside. Amidst narrow, winding cobbled roads of stone build houses you will find the warm welcome and see the sights and unique customs. The villages are a time-capsule of the island's bygone times.

A great day to the Troodos mountains and picturesque village of Lania, the village of writers and painters. We will walk through its colorful and narrow streets and visit Lino's old wine presser and will see the way wine was made in old times.

We continue with our visit to Kilani winery where we will have the opportunity to be toured and taste a variety of wines.

We also visit the Omodos village with its unique monastery and its treasures such as pieces of the Holy cross, the rope with the stain of the blood of Jesus Christ, and the local wine pressers. Wine can be tasted too there.

A fascinating tour in the ruins of Salamis, St Varnavas Monastery &amp; medieval Famagusta.

Salamis was the Hellenistic city and the port from where trade was carried out to many ports of the ancient world. It's the living memory of the arrival of the Greeks in Cyprus after the Trojan War: A Greek city par excellence that flourished during antiquity under the Assyrians, the Persians, the Ptolemies and the Romans.

Famagusta, the continuation of Salamis, was the key and the heart of Cyprus, the hub of the Mediterranean, the port that merged Middle East and Western Europe.
There the spice routes met the silk roads, merchants and pilgrims met Kings and Knights. During the Medieval Age Greeks, French, Armenians, Venetians, Jewish and Arab merchants lived side by side, each in their own quartier, celebrating their own traditions and religion.

Tale of Three Cities: discover Famagusta, Kyrenia, and Nicosia on a full-day tour.

The tour takes us to the island's divided capital, Nicosia, where we visit the Cathedral of Saint Ioannis (John).
We than walk through the old city and give free time for shopping or refreshments.
We then cross over to the occupied areas of Nicosia and visit the old Turkish quarter.
We then go to the ageless city of Kyreneia where free time is given for sightseeing and lunch (optional).
We later continue our journey on to the fortified Venetian town of Famagusta where we will have a short guided tour and the opportunity to visit the Cathedral of Saint Nicolas.
The day ends with a drive along the fence of the ghost City of Ammochostos (Famagusta) before our return journey home.

Join me on a in-depth journey into the history of Cyprus.

After crossing the check point to the north we start our tour to St. Hilarion castle with its spectacular views and sceneries perched dramatically on a mountain. First fortified by the Byzantines, these were greatly strengthened by the Lusignan kings during the Medieval times.
We continue our tour to the center of Kyrenia town and its spectacular castle built during the Byzantine period in the 9th century AD. The 5th century BC shipwreck museum will be visited dating back to ancient times which includes the ships final cargo, the items used by the sailors.
Much of the day will be devoted to exploring the picturesque town of Kyrenia with its horseshoe-shaped Harbor, and its maze of narrow streets with finely preserved stone houses. We continue our tour to Bellapais Abbey, a masterpiece of the Gothic art made famous in the novel Bitter Lemons by Lawrence Durrell.
We take a break and have lunch at a local restaurant facing the historic Abbey ( own expense).

St. Barnabas Monastery is in Famagusta. Barnabas was from a Jewish family and for his higher studies, he went to Jerusalem. It was then when Christianity was spreading. He came to Cyprus with St. Paul but St. Barnabas was killed while on his mission. Who killed him? Where is his Tomb? I will tell you all about this on the tour.
Salamis Ruins are one of the sights that must be visited. The history dates back to 11BC with Gymnasium, Roman Baths, and other sights in Salamis. A lot to be seen and photographed today on this tour.
Famagusta walls surround the Medieval city where history lies for decades. St. Nicholas Cathedral, Venetian Palace, the Church of Latins are some of the sites that we'll visit today.
