Getting to know the center of Medellín is having a real local experience, exploring its architecture, its flavors and seeing the everyday life that comes with being in the center of commerce in the second largest city in Colombia. Only in the center of Medellín you will get to see the entire city gathered together - regardless of the socioeconomic status, or the amount of money in your pocket because the center is for everyone. Since I was a little girl, going downtown meant getting to Plaza Botero to see the famous Botero's Gordas and choosing between chorizo with arepa or plantain with butter on the way to visit the National Palace to buy new shoes. It is important to note that many shops and food stalls are closed on Sunday so the opportunity to see the normal movement of the city is more limited that day.
