Are you interested in history or archeology? do you want to know more about prehispanical cultures and Colombia's history? If the answer is yes this guided tour is perfect for you! Bogotá's gold museum is the largest collection of prehispanical gold made objects around the world and, in my opinion, one of the best ways to approach to having complete ideas of Colombian history and culture. After working for almost 3 years as an official guide in this museum I'm proud to say that I know each corner of it and many of the most interesting facts of the collection.
- We'll meet each other at the Museum's main entrance - I'll give you a short introduction about what we have in the Museum - We will start at the second floor, starting with the "work of the metals" exhibit room, were I will explain to you how the objects where made -Then we will go to "people and gold in the prehispanical Colombia" where I'll show you items of the different archeological regions that compose the museum's collection - then we'll go to "cosmology and symbolism" where we are going to approach to indigenous cosmology, linking it with Colombian contemporary history. - Finally, we will visit the offering room where we are going to talk about "El Dorado", the legend that made the Spanish conquerors come to this region.
