Mutianyu Great Wall has an extremely beautiful natural landscape once you are up on the wall. You will have a nice walk on the Wall, enjoying both Wall and beautiful nature around it.

You can take the chairlift to go up and take toboggan (slider car) down from the Wall. You can also take cable car both up and down. The third option is taking cable car up, walking from the 14th watch tower to the 6th watch tower, and then taking toboggan or chairlift down. A private tour is very flexible. Considered one of the most scenic stretches of the Great Wall, the Jiankou Great Wall is where most contemporary professional photographs are taken. The Jiankou Wall dates from the Ming Dynasty, and connects with the Mutianyu Great Wall to the east, and the Huanghuacheng Great Wall to the west.
Zigzaging for 9. 3 miles from east to north, it is higher and steeper than the Mutianyu Great Wall, and more winding and varied than the Simatai Great Wall. Built from local dolomite, the white rock is striking to the eye from a distance.
During your hike you will see the The Zhenbeilou Tower, an important command post during the ancient wars, where is 1200 meters above sea level. Discover The Beijing Knot, where 3 walls come together from different directions.

To choose Mutianyu, you need a good condition on your body, otherwise a transportation tool such as toboggan will send you to the top (Extra-pay needed). Ming 13 Tombs is relevant with the Ming dynasty, which was from 1368 to 1644. If you'd like to make clear about Chinese Han nationality, Ming tomb would be a good choice.

If you could only visit the Great Wall once in your life, which section would you choose? As a native Beijinger, l would say that the Jinshanling Great Wall is the most spectacular section of the entire Great Wall of China, bar none. I'm sure the National Geographic Channel must feel the same way, as they chose the Jinshanling to shoot their Great Wall film. The Jinshanling Great Wall is about 2. 5 hours drive from Beijing, the long distance makes it the least crowded section of the wall, even in the high season. Compared with other sections of the Great Wall, it has the best view, the longest hiking route (7 miles), the largest number of watchtowers (67 towers, Mutainyu section has only 20 towers 3 miles) most importantly, you can explore both restored and unrestored Great Wall here. This is something you cannot find in any other section of the wall. I have explored many sections of the Great Wall around Beijing in countless times. Jinshanling is the best, I am sure, you will leave great memory there.
