Colchagua Wine Route

Chile recognizes five distinct wine regions. By far the most important of these, in terms of quality and quantity is the región of Colchagua which is located at 160 KM from Santiago. The phrase Ruta del vino (wine route) refers to a region where you can tour various vineyards in two or three days. This full day program includes two winery visits during the day. One in Apalta valley, a renown sub-región within Colchagua where many international red winners have been awarded in the last few years. A second visit is scheduled after having lunch into another vineyard state close to Santa Cruz. Colchagua is the most traditional región of Chile from local "huaso" or ranger to manoir style constructions still found there to testify the roots of Chilean Aristocracy dating back to colonial times.
