Nobody should visit Tenerife without witnessing the dramatic scenery in the Teide National Park, breath-taking evidence that the Canary Islands were formed by prolonged volcanic activity. Our excursion takes us deep into an amazing landscape of rock formations, giant lava flows and strange shapes and colours one could only imagine on another planet. The park was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 2007 and is one of the most visited national parks in the World. In May and June the flora is amazing with the Retamas and Echiums in blossom. In winter, if we are lucky, Mount Teide will be even more photogenic with a covering of snow sparkling in the sunlight. We will make numerous stops for spectacular camera shots. If requested and if we have time we might stop at a local inn to sample traditional Canary Island cuisine on our return. 9am or at another prefered time - pick up from the port or hotel and head straight up into the hills. In normal conditions we will drive along the island's amazing ridge road to Teide National Park for its spectacular views. On rare occasions this road is closed due to snow, in which case we would take an alternative road. 10. 30am - Our tour takes us through Teide National Park and its spectacular volcanic landscapes. Our return route might be via the lush Orotava Valley or through the southern pine forests, depending on where you are staying or upon whether you are on a cruise. 1. 30pm - If requested we will stop on our way to sample some typical island cuisine. 3pm - We try to have you back in the port or hotel at approximately 3pm (or six hours after the start of the tour), unless you specifically need to be back earlier.

Our mode of transport is a modern, comfortable 5-seater, air conditioned vehicle. Please bear in mind that if you require a vehicle with more space, or of there are more passengers, I usually hire a larger vehicle. NOTE: It is best to ask me before booking a tour if there is availability for a larger vehicle. This may also mean an increased fee because the island is having record numbers of visitors, and rental cars are difficult to come by at a reasonable price just now .
