Join me on an experiential walk that'll entice your senses, please the eyes and rumble the belly. We'll gather at St. Lawrence Market, one of the oldest "covered markets" in North America and one of the best in the world, as voted by National Geographic magazine. It hides one of the city's best kept secrets: a free Toronto museum in a heritage building! This tour is the best possible way to experience the city on a personal level. We'll talk about food and how it unites us, as well as what kind of flavour influences you can see in Canada, and specifically in Toronto. You'll also get a chance to grab some coffee and a snack before moving along Front Street with me. Get ready to pass by some of Toronto's best restaurants, fantastic architecture, and public art. I'll be sure to tell you a story about public parks and see if you can find a "real life" Easter Egg, among many other things we'll see making a few stops along the way. We'll cover about 4 km (2. 5 miles) with many stops on mostly flat pavement.
-We'll start our tour at St. Lawrence market. -After exploring, we'll move west along Front Street. -Later, you'll get to see an Original "Banksy". -Next, we'll pass by Flatiron building and of Toronto's most instagrammed spots. -We'll then visit Berczy Park with its Dog Fountain. -Afterwards, we'll pass by Meridian Hall (aka O'Keefe Centre, aka Sony Centre for Performing Arts). -Then it's on to Hockey Hall of Fame (a former bank building). -Later, we'll pass by Union Station & the Royal York Hotel. -Next, we'll reach Metro Toronto Convention Centre. -We'll then see Jurassic Park & Scotiabank Theatre (former Air Canada Centre). -Later, Roy Thompson Hall & Canada's Walk of Fame. -We'll then stroll John Street & Cultural Corridor. -Later, we'll explore CityPlace neighbourhood & discuss downtown living. -We'll then move up north along Spadina Avenue, passing by the Fashion District & Chinatown, to end our tour at Kensington Market.
