This full-day tour is perfect for anyone who wants to discover what makes Quebec City truly unique in North America. Its French language, culture, and identity have endured for centuries, creating a city unlike any other on the continent. Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been here before, you’ll enjoy walking through centuries of history that shaped both the city and the country. You’ll learn why Quebec still speaks French, even after becoming a British colony in the 18th century. We’ll explore Old Quebec’s distinctive architecture, shaped by French, British, and Canadian influences. Then we’ll go further: from the iconic Château Frontenac to the Citadel, the Plains of Abraham, and the National Assembly, this tour offers a deeper view of the city’s past and present. We’ll take a break for lunch halfway through. You’ll also enjoy stunning views, cobblestone streets, and unforgettable landmarks. I’ll make sure this tour stays with you for a long time.
The itinerary may vary slightly depending on the starting point, and are not necessarily listed in the order they’ll be visited: * Place Royale – the birthplace of Quebec City * Petit-Champlain Street – often called the most beautiful street in Canada * Château Frontenac – the city’s iconic hotel * Plains of Abraham – a key battlefield from 1759 and now a major urban park * Terrasse Dufferin – a scenic boardwalk overlooking the St. Lawrence River * National Assembly – Quebec’s provincial parliament building * Monument Wolfe-Montcalm – the city’s first monument, rich in symbolism * Quebec City Fortifications – the only walled city north of Mexico * The Citadel – a 19th-century fortress still used by the military * Morrin Centre – former prison, college, and cultural hub * Holy Trinity & Notre-Dame – the first Anglican and Catholic cathedrals * Séminaire de Québec – cradle of the Catholic Church in Canada * Parc Montmorency – birthplace of Canadian democracy

This is a walking tour only, our feet will provide all the transportation needed (and they're very good at this!). Quebec City can be hilly but we'll take it at a leisurely pace and adapt to everyone.

I really like to start my tours at the Champlain Monument (on Dufferin Terrace), the heart of Old Quebec, for the history of the city to unfold along the tour. But it it's important for you, I can pick you up anywhere inside the walls of Old Quebec or in the historic Lower town area. Please dress comfortably (good walking shoes) and appropriately for the weather.
