It's basically the same route as my popular Discovery tour of Quebec City, but with a twist. A very English twist. Discover how Britain influenced Quebec City and why there are so many testimonies of the English presence in the metropolis of New France. Visit the most beautiful Anglican cathedral on the planet outside of England, discover a secret the British monarchy wanted to bury, learn about a unique English language cultural institution reserved, in the past, for the elite. When the British conquered Canada, they inherited a vast empire with Quebec as its capital. They then built their institutions, creating a microcosm of Canada which is indeed a mix of French and English culture. We will learn all about Canada's history and the British influence on a relaxed and pleasant tour.
Featured sites include: - Chateau Frontenac - Petit Champlain area and street - Parliament - Holy Trinity Cathedral - Monastère des Ursulines - Petit Séminaire (Collège Laval) - St Matthew's Cemetery and Church (or is it? suprise!) - Morrin Center - Edifice Price - Entrance of Plains of Abraham (during summer) - Fortification walls - Citadelle (outside view) Please note that this itinerary is variable depending on the weather, international events and your pick-up location, but in all cases it will include major sites. Entrance to institutions cannot be guaranteed. They may be closed for renovations.
