This tour will appeal to everyone who appreciates getting to know a place by learning its history and how it shaped the present. Whether you're an experienced traveler or if it's your first time in Quebec City, you will appreciate walking through history every step of the way. After this tour, you'll understand why people in Quebec still speak French, even though we became a British colony in the middle of the 18th century. The architecture of Old Quebec is unique in the sense that many influences (mostly French, British and Canadian) were present during more than 400 years of history, and I will show you how those influences transformed the city that I have the privilege to call home. Stunning views of the St. Lawrence river are waiting for you in the upper part of the city, along with wonderful cobblestone streets, historic buildings and monuments. I can't wait to share my love of this city with you. I'll do whatever it takes to make this tour something you will remember for a long time.
The itinerary will be a bit different for every tour depending on the starting point but will include most of the following: * Place Royale, the birthplace of Quebec City * Rue du Petit-Champlain, voted many times as the most beautiful street in Canada * Château Frontenac, a beautiful hotel that has become the symbol of Quebec City * Terrasse Dufferin, a wonderful boardwalk with stunning views on the St. Lawrence River * Monument Wolfe-Montcalm, the first monument in Quebec and its importance in understanding Canada's heritage * Quebec City Fortifications, making Quebec the only walled city north of Mexico * Morrin Center, the first prison, a college and a cultural and historical center * Holy Trinity and Notre-Dame, the first Anglican and Catholic cathedrals * Wonderful, charming and quiet streets in the Latin Quarter * Séminaire de Québec, my favorite part of the city, the cradle of the Catholic Church in Canada * Parc Montmorency, the birthplace of democracy in Canada Subject to some changes.

This is a walking tour only, our feet will provide all the transportation needed (and they're very good at this!).
Airport: ,Cruise: ,ByGuide: I like to start my tours at the Champlain Monument, the heart of Old Quebec, for the history of the city to unfold along the tour. But if you prefer, I can pick you up anywhere inside the walls of Old Quebec or in the historic Lower town area. Please dress comfortably (good walking shoes) and appropriately for the weather.
