Monteregian scenic day tour with food stops

Let me take you on a day that will make you feel like a local. The Monteregie region is situated just south of Montreal. A quick half-hour drive takes you to the suburb where I was raised and still live. I will first take you to my farmer's market and choose a couple of treats for our later lunch. Our next stop is a farm-to-table cheese artisan to pick up a cheese sampling platter and say “Hi” to the cows who makes this all possible! Back on the road, heading for Chambly to see historic houses and have a picnic style lunch at Fort Chambly, a gorgeous national park in the middle of a charming village. This day continues; direction Rougemont. Rougemont is a mountain packed with orchards and vineyards. We will be stopping at one of our pioneer hard cider producers for a cider and apple liqueur tastings and desert. Following all these amazing food and beverages, it will be time to head back to Montreal. A calm, enjoyable drive back with a scenic progression from rural life to a lively metropolis.
