If you're in Montreal, you will want to see the historic part of town to learn how the city became the metropolis we know and cherish. From millennia of First Nations presence to the arrival of the French, the English victory, and the creation of Canada, learn about our history and admire its buildings. From the Old Port, we'll hop on a river shuttle to Boucherville. During this 30 minute ride, we'll see Montreal from a different vantage point. You'll spot Expo 67 landmarks as well as the Olympic stadium. In Old Boucherville, we'll take a lunch break before meeting our local guide. They will accompany us for a short walk to visit some historic landmarks such as the Sainte-Famille church, and will explain the role this city played in its early history. We'll then take the ferry back to Old Montreal for another grand view of the region.
- The impressive Notre-Dame Basilica (outside) - The neoclassical Bank of Montreal - Place d'Armes and its statues - Pointe à Callière's observation deck (if open and time permitting) - Rue St-Paul (pedestrian street) - Place Jacques-Cartier - Bonsecours Market and its niche boutiques (time permitting) - Onward to Boucherville by river shuttle! - Break for lunch / snack - Walking tour of Old Boucherville by a local guide, including: - Historic Ste-Famille church - The home of German-descent military captain Weilbrenner, who fought in the war of 1812 - The "Captain's House", belonging to ship captain Laviolette, shuttling people back and forth to Montreal - Return to Old Montreal * This itinerary can be customized to suit your needs and preferences. Do not hesitate to contact me. Six hours is recommended if the tour starts in the morning, to factor in a lunch break. Otherwise, depending on the ferry schedule, 5 to 6 hours is recommended.

This is a walking tour. I suggest wearing comfortable shoes, and bringing a rain jacket or an umbrella if the weather demands it. We will take a round-trip on a river shuttle (30 min. each way). The waters can be a bit rough during inclement weather. Bring a jacket to enjoy the view on the deck of the boat if it's chilly outside. This is not a chartered boat, so there will be other visitors and commuters on board. Please note the engine noise can be quite loud.

Meet across the street from this grand bank. There are benches and plenty of shade, and you can also wait inside the bank if the weather is inclement.
