São Paulo Street Art Graffiti Shore Excursion

Since the end of the 1990's, the discussion about "what is vandalism, what is art" was no more necessary. The Street Art became a new trademark of São Paulo city with a lot of new local artists, some of them inspired by the tagging, called by the locals as "pixo", others by the studios and schools of art. The starting point of a big urban art movement that transformed streets, blocks, overpasses, abandoned buildings and alleys in colorful places around the city. In this tour, let's visit the North Zone of São Paulo, an area considered one of the cradles of the local Street Art. The highlight is the MAAU (Open Air Museum of Urban Art), a row of columns painted by famous street artists. Another important stop is at downtown São Paulo places like Arouche, Santa Cecília and Roosevelt Square, where we can take a look in a lot of huge amazing murals painted over the old billboards. The last stop is Vila Madalena, especially the famous Batman's Alley and the many surrounding studios and art galleries.
