A Dive into the Rubber Boom History

Our journey in history starts when I pick you up from your hotel or cruise ship by car to visit the area called "The Old Manaus" where the government has worked in partnership with UNESCO to restore and bring back the buildings, streets and squares to look exactly like it was back in the XIX century. We will enjoy a nice walk on these streets and enter some of these building with incredible architecture. We will enter the Famous Amazonas Opera House and have an idea of how much power these Rubber Barons had. We will visit a mansion that was build by a German rubber baron and ended up becoming the Governors office for many years. Now it's time to take a boat and ride to the scenographic site where a movie was filmed on the year 2000 and that was completed recreated to bring back to life the sites in the jungle where all the latex was extracted to be exported to Europe and make Manaus so rich. Here place we will also learn about the sad journey of the workers who came hoping for better days but became slaves
