Discover Bahia's Traditional Biodiverse Farming in a Half-Day Tour

In Southern Bahia region (a. k. a Cacao's Coast) it is historically common to have some diversity of species in the farms, like the popular cabruca system. In the tour we will walk in a sustainable biodiverse local farm, and meet the actual trees/plants of famous fruits like: cacao tree, cupuaçu, coffee, sugar, açaí, dendê, banana, papaya, amongst many others. We will see how the use of the land has influenced the social and natural landscape and what are the contemporary alternatives for more sustainable farming. You will be delighted and surprised by the beautiful colours, shapes and flavours from the raw plants and fruits, and learn how to identify them wherever you go. You will witness the harvesting and processing methods and taste the native and exotic tropical fresh fruits traditionally cultivated in the region, and explain the differences between them.
