Overview of your Cotonou tour:

This tour is set up to plunge travellers into the slave-trade past of Benin. We will follow the entire circuit, from the places of capture to the auction market, passing by way of the black cell and the mass graves. Known worldwide as the birthplace of Vodoun, we will be received by dignitaries there and we will visit the sacred forest of KPASSE. I will lead you off the beaten path in proposing a more knowledgeable approach to traveling around my country.

Your Cotonou tour itinerary

Day 1: Breakfast (offered by myself, opportunity to review the itinerary with the group) and then departure at 9h30 am. Visit to KPLAKODJI a local place to see how women use to smoke the fish. Quick tour around the capital city and departure to Ouidah (1h driving). Tour around this town full of historical attractions. Lunch at 1h30 pm and deep interaction with local leaders. Overnight at Diaspora Hotel in Ouidah. Day 2: Excursion to SE and Bopa, two small villages with incredible cultural potential (1h driving). Learning about the history and the traditional life of the country. After a break having lunch at 2 pm, we will go back to Cotonou (2h driving) where the tour ends.

We will use a TOYOTA SUV car with air conditioned. If you are more than 2, please let me know. The vehicle can fit comfortably 4 people and we can customise the tour adding a single or a double room for the night.
