We visit the medieval centre of Ghent with his astonishing Belfry (listed as a World Heritage Sites by UNESCO). We feel the spirituality of Saint Nicholas' Church (13th century), we walk then through the Graslei and Korenlei piers, the Great Butchers' Hall, the Vrijdagmarkt square (linked with the Hundred Years' War between England and France), de Patershol's cobbled alleys to discover the stunning Gravensteen (a castle from the 12th century). But we visit also the surroundings: a hospital of the 13th century, the old garden of Saint Peter's abbey, the small beginage and the beautiful nature landscape of the river Lys.
1. The downtown of Ghent 2. The University area, Bijloke and Sint-Pieters Abdij. 3. The Lys river 4. We come back to the city center.
