Full Day Tour to battlefields from Brussels

I have lived in the 'Westhoek' for 18 years. One of the quietest parts of Europe, with fantastically beautiful landscapes. But despite that beauty and silence, you cannot ignore a terrible history. These landscapes are strewn with scars: trenches, bunkers, ruins, military cemeteries, etc. In this westernmost part of Belgium, wedged between the North Sea, France and the river Yser, the First World War raged for four years. In 1914 the people of the 'Westhoek' saw soldiers from all over the world pass by. What followed was a terrible war, with cannons, machine guns, trenches, barbed wire, flamethrowers, the first tanks, poison gas, etc. 15 million people lost their lives. One hundred years later, I tell stories as seen through the eyes of the soldiers. I show how the population had to leave their destroyed towns and villages. A century later, the 'Westhoek' has become quiet again. But the stories, trenches, bunkers and cemeteries have remained. The stories I tell you in the places where it all happened.
