Snow Experience on Mount Aragats Slopes - Amberd 'Castle in the Clouds' & Lake Kari

We'll visit Lake Kari at 3200m on the slopes of Mount Aragats (4094m), the highest peak of Armenia. Later we'll drive towards the medieval Amberd, the "castle in the clouds", a fitting name given to it because of its elevation at 2300m on the Mount Aragats. We all have romantic images about life in a medieval castle. I'll tell you about how the queens and the kings lived there, and the story of invasions and battles fought for it. Amberd is the best-preserved castle in Armenia founded in the 10th century. On our way to Yerevan we will visit Oshakan village St. Mashtots church where the Armenian alphabet inventor is buried whose letters have been used since the 5th century until nowadays.
