One of the great attractions of Mendoza, besides the mountain chain of The Andes, is the wine. The climate, the geography, and the great work of the man in transforming this desert into an oasis with mountains, turned the province to an exquisite wine producer, with exports to several countries all over the world.
The first immigrants who settled up in Mendoza, were from Spain, Italy or France, and in the 18th century introduced different varieties of vine-stocks of grapevine.
In this tour, we will visit four and totally different wineries, to get close and feel their culture of production, learn about the processes and of course. . . taste they exclusive wines!
Lunch is going to be in the third winery, at their exclusive restaurante.
As your guide I will accompany you in each winery to contribute my knowledge about the industry, type of wines and each winery in relation to the others that we will visit during the day.

This is an invitation to get to know the Andes like a mountaineer and experience a super complete day.

We will go to Vallecitos, a beautiful village located in the Andes Mountain Range, 90 km away from Mendoza City and only 30 km from Potrerillos. Probably we can say that is the "school" of high altitude mountaineering, and its feel like home.

We will start early to make the most of the day, and we will travel for 2 hours, enjoying the landscape that takes us to the foothills of Cordón del Plata.

Once there, around 10:45 a. m. , we will start our high altitude hike, depending on the trail we have chosen.

The diversity of the place offers many possibilities! And since this is a personalized service, we define the itinerary together with each group.

Once the hike is finished, which will last approximately 4 to 5 hours, we will return to Mendoza City with the tiredness and satisfaction of having hiked a day among the great mountains of the Andes.

Hiking experience in the Andes

Mendoza is a very picturesque city, with its tree-lined streets and treacherous irrigation ditches that run throughout our city. We will visit its most emblematic places such as squares and parks that so characterize my city, being just a small oasis in such a desolate Cuyo desert.

Leaving the city and heading west, a visit to the Wonderful Great Lung of the City awaits us; The General San Martin Park; with 400 ha. We will go through the Main entrance; the famous Iron Gates brought from Glasgow. From there, and always by vehicle, we will enter this forest built by the hand of men. We will make stops at Fountain of the continents; Artificial Lake and the typical postcard of Mendoza, the incredible Glory's Hill. From there, with almost 1000 meters above sea level, we can observe the entire city and end our tour at the Great Memorial Monument to the National Hero and his men, General Jose de San Martin and the Army of the Andes.

This tour means a lot to me because in these places I took my first steps driving without my father or my grandfather, who were the ones who taught everything about the Andes. Every time I visit this magical place, it reminds me of that first time I went alone in search of the great off road adventure.

The Wine and The City: Highlights of Mendoza with a Private Guide

To those who just arrived in Mendoza or have little time left in the city, this tour is the perfect fit for you.

In the morning or either during the afternoon, you can choose this experience as a unique way to see a bit of everything around Mendoza - the city highlights, the park, the surroundings and a winery.

I will show you Mendoza as if you were family and I will teach you our traditions while we chill at the park and drink some mates, coffee or tea if you prefer of course, always with some "facturitas" (Argentinian typical pastry) or "alfajores".

This fountain was inspired by the group of sculptures called "The Four Continents" made by French sculptor Jean B. Carpeaux, which decorates the Gardens of Luxemburg. Its is said to have been made by sculptress Lola Mora. Its main theme is the representation of the continents: America, Asia, Europe and Africa; leaving Oceania aside as it was formerly considered part of the Asian continent

Luján de Cuyo - Maipú wine full day

I would like to invite you to this beautiful activity that combines the best of Mendoza's mountain life, recreational hiking, and the traditional Argentinean food par excellence: the asado gaucho (barbecue).

You will experience a full day regional tour. The activity will begin in the Front Mountain Range -at 2, 400 meters above sea level- with a low-difficulty 3-hour hike.

During the tour we will get to know the typical way of life of the locals, with their livestock and their pace of life, so different from that of the city. We will also see local wildlife: condors, guanacos and foxes.

And as we reach higher altitudes, we will be amazed by the great views of Potrerillos, its dam and the pre-mountain range.

My idea when proposing this tour, is that you can have free time during your day, in the way you need to; returning to the hotel at midday.

Experience the stunning views of the Andes

Let's discover the Andes on this tour driving along the international route 7.

We will visit the potrerillos dam, uspallata valley for breakfast, then we will continue our way to visit the famous Inca bridge, a natural formation over the river Las cuevas, in the area there are local artisans if you want to buy souvenirs.

Then we will continue on our way to the Aconcagua viewpoint, the highest mountain in America 6962msnm. If weather conditions permit, we will enter the park for a short 1 hour walk in the horcones lagoon, this option is not available during the winter season.

We will drive back along route 7 again until we reach Uspallata where we will have lunch and why not a glass of wine?

See the origin of this place, having a full day inside The Andes, taking the Pan-American Highway you are going to realize why Mendoza is the gateway to The Pacific! Before enjoying this mountain range, our journey goes through The Pre Andes or foothills to a man-made lake having a fabulous mirror inside the Andes.
After this stop the following one is Uspallata, for a necessary coffee break and ready for our highlight: Aconcagua mountain, the highest pick out of The Himalayas.
