Hi, my name is Jalisa and I have been called many things during my 30-some odd years on this earth. Daughter, sister, aunt, mom, and since 2015, your favorite Tour Guide in DC. I became a guide in 2015 after looking for a career change after leaving Early Childhood Education. Tourism was a perfect fit for me because of my love for history and because I can't seem to be quiet. A 5th generation Washingtonian, I grew up as a History buff with a love for the historical cities near me such as Washington DC, Baltimore, and Annapolis. I have stories to tell about the streets and buildings in DC. Aside from doing walking and bus tours for individuals, families, and groups, I can also give tours inside some of the great museums of DC such as the Natural History Museum, American History Museum, African American History and Culture Museum, and The National Archives. I love being a tour guide because I love meeting and conversing with people from all over the world. I like to talk about the amazing city, why others come to visit The Federal District, and also some great tidbits about where they are from. I love cooking and finding new restaurants and hideaways to tell my guests and hiding under a shading spot while reading a good book, and I'm also a mom to a preschool boy who also aspires to be a tour guide just like his mom someday.
