I wasn't born here, but got here as fast as I could! After a 20-year career in military and government service, my husband and I chose Alaska as our home and put down some roots. My family has history throughout the state, including right here in Ketchikan. Hearing, and reading about epic Alaskan adventures my whole life, I could not wait to make them my own. Although I have been guiding throughout the state for many years, I can't wait to show you what I love about my home here in Ketchikan. Currently, I live on a boat, a 40' trawler, in Ketchikan's City Float. Before that, a cabin in the woods in Southcentral Alaska. I've been collecting Alaskan experiences since I got here, and I'm not slowing down. When I'm not piloting my boat, I'm piloting a bush plane into the wilds, or camping in my van while accessing all Alaska has to offer. I often tour with Scarlet and Quinn, the Husky Tour Guides. Born in Alaska in 2010, they have grown up adventuring, in Alaska, together. Both were acquired from the MatSu Animal Shelter, as puppies, and have been members of our family ever since. They are very social, talkative, and enjoy interacting with visitors from all over the world. As self-appointed official greeters for the City of Ketchikan, they are honored to welcome you to their home. Huskies have very instinctual urges to pull. We channeled this energy when they were young and trained them to mush. At 12 yeas old, they no longer pull sleds, but still enjoy skijoring, bikejoring, and all manor of Alaskan adventure! Together, we are here to give visitor's authentic exposure to the lifestyle and people of Ketchikan, and Alaska. We hope that by sharing our love for this place, and it's people, that you will leave with a bit of love in your heart for our city and state.
