I am a full-time resident of Cody and a hiking guide expert with 20+ years' experience of group guided tours under my belt (my guide resume is extensive).

I've had a passion for hiking since my 20's. It all started on my 3-month-long honeymoon, hiking in 9 different National Parks across the West. During my 15 years in Colorado, I led group hikes on 34 of The 14ers (14, 000'+ mountains).

After falling in love with Cody, I moved here in 2020. Here, I took all my hiking experience, mapping skills, gear and safety knowledge to form a hiking tour guide business. To date, I have taken 100+ guests on scenic and historical hiking tours in the Cody / Wapiti / Northfork areas.

I offer tours ranging from, short/easy walks and strolls, to moderate/active hikes and heart-pumping all day adventures. . . all with the opportunity to observe and discuss the local flora, fauna and geology.

I am a hiking addict! I hike weekly, year-round, in any weather, and believe it is the best form of physical and mental exercise. Known by the locals as the "Hiking Buddy", I regularly take friends and new residents on hiking tours around the many wonderful trails in the Cody area.

While hiking is my #1 hobby, I am also an accomplished musician who has played drums casually and semi-professionally since college. I'm kind of a foodie, call myself a "beer enthusiast" and can show you the best restaurants and breweries in town. Karaoke, billiards, darts, corn hole, board games, movies and college football are also on my hobbies list.

My tours are described as "Scenery, Fun and Fitness with the security, guidance and good company of a professional hiking guide". The #1 concern of all my clients venturing outdoors around Cody is security. . . your safety. I take hiking in bear country very seriously and am armed with the knowledge and tools to keep us safe on the trail.

Even on my easiest hiking tour, Canyon Stroll, I still take the necessary precautions against bear encounters - which are extremely rare.

Make this tour your first stop in Cody! 2 miles jam packed with Cody wild west history, incredible scenery and the hidden gems of this legendary western town which are only known to locals.

Walking through downtown Cody, we'll travel back to the frontier days and visit historic buildings from the turn of the 20th Century. We'll explore and learn about world-famous hotels, boutique museums, National Register Historic landmarks, and the sites of a Cody historic events and mystery.

And just a couple blocks off main street, we'll walk an easy nature trail to see the local flora. We may even get close to Cody's "town deer", our docile year-round deer population.

Strolling through a lovely park to a scenic overlook. Here, we'll will gaze at the vast panoramic views of nearby mountain peaks, distant mountain ranges (seeing as far as Montana!) and the town below.

Cody Town and Nature Trek - Express Walking Tour

Some locals call this the best "dam" hike in Cody! Maybe because it's the only hike to a dam in town, but it's arguably the best hike as well. This 3 hour nature and scenic walk/hike is guaranteed to show you both the most fascinating manmade and the most stunning natural sites in Cody!

Step back in time to the year 1900. The early settlers of this area used horse-drawn carriages to drive this very path from Cody to Yellowstone National Park. It's now closed to public traffic, paved, and is a popular walking/hiking path for locals. Thousands of Yellowstone tourists will drive right by this hidden gem and never know it's there. . . but with me, you will!

I'll take you to see the sensational Shoshone River, impressive bridges, rock and cliff formations and sheer rock walls that are some of the oldest on the planet! At one point, we'll look up and maybe get to gaze in awe and fright at rock climbers who frequent this area.

Ever been near the base of a dam? You will on this hike.

Cody River, Canyon & Dam - Half Day Hiking Tour

A short drive from downtown Cody brings us to this nearby outdoor adventure playground! This is one of my personal favorite local hikes, and that's saying something, considering I've been at it for over 2 decades!
This particular one happens to be not too long, not too short, plus not too difficult or too far away.

Within minutes of civilization, we'll be immersed in nature, breathing the fresh mountain air, seeing some memorable, incredible sights and getting a nice little workout.

This spirited 6-mile loop route takes us through Cody's beautiful sage, juniper, and red rock country. If we're lucky, we will see some wildlife, as well. It's hard to stop taking pictures on this tour, so be sure you have enough space on your smartphone.

This tour is such a delightful snapshot of the nature side of Cody. It's a wonderful brief retreat from town and recharges you for the remainder of your vacation.
