Guide #65646
Born and raised on the doorstep of Boston, I spent my youth wandering through the city and learned early that I love Boston more than most other places. My first memories are rides on the swan boats and feeding pigeons in the Boston Public Garden. My high school years consisted of wandering around the North End eating non-stop and my adulthood now consists of sharing my city with newcomers! Having done contract work around the world for 10 years, I can confidently say that Boston is my favorite place to be - and I've had quite a few opportunities for comparison - London, Seoul, NYC, Australian Outback, McMurdo Station Antarctica, Mumbai (and a few others). I love talking about my travels but it's Boston that has my heart (and my belongings) and I keep coming home. Like anyone, I have many interests and hobbies - I play ukulele (mostly for the singalong aspect), I love hiking (clocked in at over 3000 miles thus far), I am constantly on the lookout for good Sci-fi reads (but also like a compelling science-based non-fiction) and I adore my bike (mostly just a bicycle commuter - having ventured into bike-packing yet). However, one of my favorite things to do is to introduce people to new things and experiences - as a tour guide, I get to do this every day. Whether it's through the Boston history, food or culture - I love to see people enjoy themselves and grow in their understandings of a place. I love working with people through ToursByLocals because it gives me an opportunity to custom fit people's interests into a stellar day in my favorite city. Boston has everything you want as a resident and visitor! History - Birthplace of the American Revolution, right here! Walk the freedom trail and see Paul Revere's House, the Old South Meeting House, the site of the Boston Massacre and the final resting places of some , Art ( Museum of Fine Arts, Institue for Contemporary Art, Isabella Stewart Gardner Musuem. Certified Guide - International Tour Management Institute UMass Amherst Bachelors of Anthropology Road Scholar Group Leader Trained Facilitator I am not a licensed guide for some places and will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments/buildings.
