I'm Ian and for the past fifteen years I've had the pleasure of providing tailored luxury tours of London and beyond. My background was the automotive industry where I spent the first thirty years of my working life. Over this time I worked with Lotus, Jaguar and ultimately Mercedes-Benz where I ended up with the splendidly sounding title of Personal Liaison Manager. This was simply a fancy way of describing a car salesman, although I did have responsibility for the sale of two very fancy vehicles…the Maybach, a supremely luxurious hand-built limousine, and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, a 207 MPH supercar. As much as I enjoyed the automotive industry there comes a time in life when decisions about the future have to be made. I have always had a passion for Britain's history and heritage and love sharing this with others so I decided to pursue a long held ambition to become a Tour Guide. I went back to school, the University of Westminster in London to be precise, where I passed my exams with distinction and became an accredited professional Tour Guide. My tours are predominantly based in London and whether this is your first time here, or even if you are a regular visitor to this great city, deciding on what to see and where to go can often be somewhat overwhelming. Using my extensive local knowledge I will help guide you around and let you make the most of your valuable time? I will show you the iconic sights, but also the hidden gems that the guide books miss and will delight you with the stories, the scandals and the gossip behind them. Spectacular scenery, historic stately homes and palaces, picture book towns and villages, magnificent gardens and traditional pubs are there to be explored. Travelling by train from London, I offer a selection of Day Tours that will take us to places such as the elegant city of Bath, the historic University buildings of Oxford, and Windsor, home to the famous castle that has been a favourite home of the royals for the past thousand years. These tours are all bespoke and can be adapted to suit the individual client's requirements.
