Come and discover the best of Belfast with me, Nicola, as your guide and friend. Belfast may not be the biggest of cities but it punches way above its weight. I'm thrilled to take guests through Belfast introducing them to the history, people and buildings that make this city so special and, of course, to some great food and pubs! I was born and educated in the City and gained my law degree at the Queen's University of Belfast but left, like so many did, during the dark days of The Troubles, to pursue my legal career in London. It was there that I developed a passion for guiding. I worked for many years as a volunteer tour guide at Twickenham Rugby Stadium and I just fell in love with guiding. It was not just the fun of researching the history of rugby and the Stadium, but meeting people from all over the World and hearing their stories. I promised myself then that I would train as a professional tour guide some time in the future but I didn't expect the opportunity to do so would arise in my home city! I returned to live in N. Ireland in 2014 for family reasons and eventually discovered that I could train as a professional guide. I initially completed a walking tour course to see if I still had a love of guiding. The answer was a resounding "yes" so I took the plunge and completed Level 4 University of Ulster accredited Guiding Course in 2021. Since then, I have been working as a full-time guide, both as a "step-on" guide for coaches meeting the cruise ships arriving in Belfast or leading my own walking tours in Belfast and the historic towns of North Down, close to Belfast. Outside of guiding, my passions are rugby union (particularly Ulster), travel, pilates, bird watching and my two very spoilt cats.
