Guide #7394
Hi my name is Kliti ! I am a private tour guide in Albania since 2002. Born in Tirana and lived most of my life here. I like to meet new people to talk and discus with them, especially about my country and our way of life. Most of my clients say that my way of giving information mixed sometime with humorous remarks makes the tours even better. It's a pity to say, but I am a man without hobby, my hobby became my profession and that's why I really love what I do. Being on a tour with me you don't only get a full introduction to the Albanian history but you get in touch also with the real life of the Albanians. The way they think, the way they live, the problems we have to face and not only the façade what is normally shown to the tourists. How it was under the communist dictatorship and how we try to build a democracy after 20 years! After more than 6 years in West Europe I found the way back home and found out that the best possibility for me to do something for me and my country is to offer to the visitors the best what my country has to give. To make them understand the country and the people, with the good and the bad sides. My country is small and many people have not even heard of it, but the interest is increasing every year. After being totally isolated to the rest of the world for more than 45 years under the communist dictatorship, Albania is opening and changing every day, not yet commercialized like many other touristic countries I think it is right now the time to visit this place. The tours I do are going all-around the country. We can visit and talk about the ancient Apolonia, Berat, Durres, Kruja, Shkodra and Lezha! All this can be done starting from the capital city Tirana, on different day trips. In Tirana itself we can walk through the town to see the big changes were done in this town that grows in an incredible way. Becoming capital only 1920 with a population from around 10 thousand today can be called a modern town with more than 1million population. A city who offers a lot, from the biggest Historical Museum in Albania, the brand new Orthodox Church, the Catholic Cathedral and a colorful Mosque only minutes far from another. Working as a tour guide, for more than 18 years now, taught me to be flexible and to understand the expectations of the clients, and so to offer them the most from the place they are visiting! I also am a very good driver and have been with my clients and by myself almost everywhere in Albania and neighbor countries, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo. I drove my clients in the paved and unpaved roads of Albania, in the dirt roads up to the mountains. So if somebody is up for some adventure or want to visit some villages in the mountains just let me know. I suggest and you decide what to do and where to go. Everything depends on what you want to do and visit, so just let me know your wishes and your private tour will be customized! Come and you will wish to stay longer!
