I was born and have lived in Segovia all my life. As a child, I walked with my father hand in hand through the streets while he told me stories and legends, characters, and historical facts. That awakened, without me knowing it, my passion for the city and for my profession. I am Mariano, a professional guide and I have been working as a guide for more than 20 years. First, I studied tourism at the University of Madrid, but my passion for my work made me also finish my degree in History, and then in Art History. I have worked in other sectors of the tourism industry as well, as a history teacher in a secondary school, but my passion is to be a guide. Those stories that my father told me as a kid, I love to share with tourists who visit my city, and seeing in their eyes the brightness when they listen to me reminds me of when I was a kid who listened to his father. I am very lucky to live in a UNESCO World Heritage city where you can breathe history and art in every corner. What I like most about Segovia is the feeling of living history!
