Hi, I'm Israel and welcome to Gran Canaria! It will be a pleasure for me to guide you around this marvelous island. I'm originally from Venezuela, but half of my life I have been living in Spain. I love to enjoy new experiences, meet people and be surprised by life, so that's why, it wasn't for me difficult to be integrated in the Spanish culture. I finished my studies to a become a tourist guide and I started to work guiding groups around Europe, now I'm based in Gran Canaria, and since long time ago I've been learning about the history, geography, culture, nature, and other aspects of the Canarian Archipelago. As a tourist guide, my goal is to create an experience for my clients, a happiness and enjoyable time, where you can enjoy the island as I do every day, and make of this experience, what you were expecting for. Gran Canaria is known as the little continent. This Island offers all you could wish for your holidays. The microclimates it has, make it different and interesting. The north is full of green landscapes and big mountains, here you also can visit Las Palmas, and feel the experience of visiting an authentic Canarian village in Teror or Arucas. The south is drier, but it has a lot of sights to show, such as Maspalomas dunes, the amazing landscapes of the ravines and charming villages of Agüimes, Fataga or Tunte. In between north and south is located the wine region, the area where the volcanos were thousands of years ago. This is very fertile area, perfect for grapes to grow up, an excellent place to have a glass of the excellent canarian wine. At the west coast the contrast between the ocean, cliffs and nice towns is awesome. Here you should visit Agaete, and Gáldar, the capital of the Island at the Pre-Hispanic times. At the peaks of Gran Canaria, you'll find pine tree forests, you'll be amazed by the landscape of Roque Nublo and the view from Pico de las Nieves, where if the day is clear, you'll see the silhouette of El Teide, in Tenerife. The Canarian gastronomy is unique, take the chance and taste it! I recommend you try ropa vieja, papas arrugadas, gofio, or garbanzada, my favorites dishes of the Canarian gastronomy.
