Hola, and welcome to Madrid! I'm Nicole, a local winemaker living in Madrid with a passion for all things food and wine! Originally from the United States, I have worked in wineries around the world, including Napa Valley, New Zealand, Chile, France, and Spain. I came to Madrid to complete a Master's degree in Enology and Viticulture, the science of winemaking and vineyards. Of course, I fell in love with Spain so I decided to stay! Currently, I produce my wine label in Sierra de Gredos, a region right outside Madrid, while also working as a food and wine guide here in the city. Madrid is an incredible city, especially for those who love food and wine. In many neighborhoods, you can find trendy, new restaurants alongside historic bars and tabernas that serve classic Spanish food. You can find innovative gastronomic wonders as well as delightfully simple treasures, like the tortilla de patatas. When it comes to wine, Madrid has many incredible wine bars that showcase Spain's best regions and vintages. There's nothing like spending a day wandering the streets, popping into markets, cafés, restaurants, and bars, eating and drinking your way through the city. My tours are an excellent way to introduce yourself to Spanish food, wine, and culture. Or dive even deeper into the culinary treasures of this city. The goal is to have a great time, eat, drink, and learn about Spanish food culture. While walking through some of the most historic neighborhoods of the city, we will stop by classic restaurants to try some of Spain's best dishes. You will learn all about Spanish wine, including what is 'vermut' or the key differences between Rioja and Ribera. We will also cover how Jamón Ibérico (Spanish ham) is made, and much more. My tours can be personalized and customized to fit any of your needs, dietary restrictions, or specific requests.
