I am a new Seoul guide to ToursByLocals from April 2024.
Before becoming a tour guide, I traveled a lot around the world and Korea.
I worked for multinational companies for 15 years. I also received my MS degree from a renowned University in the United States. I love not only traveling, but hiking, camping, fishing, skiing, and taking pictures.

My mission is to make the tours fun and memorable.
That is why I always study different places, Korean history, and culture. It is fun for me to do so.

I will prepare every tour schedule carefully by considering different variables and I will discuss it with the clients.

We Koreans are homogeneous nation with the same language and ethnicity, culture, divided in two.

The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a border or buffer zone, which was drawn on July 27, 1953 when the Armistice Agreement was signed after the Korean War.

The DMZ vividly captures the scars and wounds of the Korean War as well as the wishes and hopes for the reunification of two Koreas.
DMZ covers the area from the origin of the Imjingang River in the east, to the town of Goseong in the west.

On either side of the truce line is a 2km-wide stretch of land where military activity is forbidden.
The zone has been protected from human disturbance for about 6 decades and has become a haven for wild animals.
The destinations in this ecological area have been regaining popularity among eco-driven tourists.

DMZ and Royal Palace - Full Day Tour from Seoul

DMZ stands for the demilitarized zone and it is definitely the number 1 choice by international tourists.
Go on a DMZ tour with a veteran who served in a Combined unit (ROK/US).
Paju DMZ is the main destination and you can visit a spot only 170 meters away from the border.
The guests will be able to see what are on the north side of the border including a North Korean ground post, villages, a flag tower, Gaeseong City and so on. Oliver will setup a telescope for you to see interesting places easily. The guests also have a chance to enjoy drinks & snacks at a cafe with a North Korean view.
