Hi there! My name is Steffi and I'm a biologist from Belgium. During a scientific volunteering project that researches the behaviour of the Risso's dolphins, I ended up in Pico. Its overwhelming beauty and rough nature astonished me completely. I was lucky to meet a local that showed me 'his' island as he knows it. It made me fall in love with Pico right there and then. I decided that this would become my safe haven. And it did. Now I am a guide on Pico and I want to show you 'my' beloved island. I take great satisfaction in guiding adventures around the island and to the highest peak of Portugal. Since I arrived here all those years ago, I have been very curious to all the hidden and not so hidden places on Pico. So that meant being on the road for many, many hours to discover and to get to know the island. That is how I found the most beautiful spots that I now want to share with you. I discovered my passion for climbing on Pico mountain. It is that passion and love I feel for this small dot in the Atlantic Ocean that I want to share with you.
